BIEN CHOISIR LES COUVERTURES DE VOTRE EHPAD

Assurez vous que vos couvertures pour lit médical ne présentent pas de risque

Le premier élément à prendre en compte et l’absence de danger que vos couvertures représentent pour vos résidents. En effet, avec un public à mobilité réduite, il est d’autant plus important de respecter les normes anti incendie. Choisissez donc des couvertures ignifugées par un traitement de type StopFlam ou Non Feu qui garantissent leur non allumabilité en présence d’une cigarette en combustion ou d’une flamme imitant une allumette. Elles doivent pour cela répondre à la norme NF EN ISO 12952/1 et 2.

Par ailleurs, pour vous assurez de l’innocuité des couvertures pour vos résidents, choisissez des produits conformes au Standard 100 Oeko Tex qui garantit l’absence de substance nocive qui pourrait provoquer allergies ou troubles de santé.

Pour éviter tout risque sanitaire, privilégiez des matières qui supporte un lavage à 60° et un séchage rapide en machine. Il est donc préférable d’éviter les matières naturelles qui nécessitent un entretien délicat.

 

Choisissez la bonne matière pour les couvertures de votre EHPAD

Comme on l’a vu, il est souhaitable d’opter pour des matières synthétiques. Vous aurez alors le choix entre plusieurs compositions qui présentent différentes qualités :

  • La couverture 100% polyester : procure un bon confort et peut supporte un lavage jusqu’à 95°
  • La couverture en maille polaire : douillette et résistante, elle est en outre très bon marché
  • La couverture en microfibre polyester : présente un toucher particulièrement doux

 

Choisir des dimensions et coloris adaptés à l’usage de vos couvertures d'EHPAD

Les couvertures synthétiques sont généralement proposées dans une large déclinaison de coloris. Profitez-en pour faciliter le tri et l’entretien en choisissant des couleurs différenciées en fonction du service et de l’usage de vos couvertures.

Afin de ne pas démultiplier inutilement les dimensions de vos couvertures, voici nos recommandations :

  • 130x170 cm pour un plaid qui peut être posé sur les épaules ou, plié en 2, protéger les jambes d’un résident en fauteuil roulant.
  • 180x220 cm pour un lit 1 personne. Cette dimension permettra de border largement la personne
  • 220x240 cm pour le cas ou vous proposez des lits doubles

 

Choisir la bonne densité pour vos couvertures d'EHPAD

La capacité d’une couverture à procurer de la chaleur est représentée par sa densité, exprimée en g/m2. Une densité faible de 250g/m2 sera adaptée à une couverture légère ou un plaid. Pour une couverture bien chaude, un grammage d’environ 350g/m2 sera plus adaptée.

  • Vous assurer qu’elles ne présentent aucun risque d’incendie ou sanitaire
  • Choisir les couleurs, dimensions et densité les plus adaptées à votre usage
